Morning shots

I know I've been gone for a while.  Forgive me!  Here are a couple of shots from my neighborhood on a Sunday morning to ease your pain.

The prime times to shoot with natural light are in the morning and early evening, and since I happened to be coming home that morning rather early, I caught these shots.

30 Day Photography Challenge

Happy New Year, guys!  I hope you all had a great Holiday season.  Mine was great...full of relaxation and family time.

To start the year off, I am going to be posting a series of pictures for a 30 day photography challenge.  I came across this idea on pinterest and decided to do this for the new year.  There is a list of 30 pictures to take, one for each day.  Hopefully this will flex my creative muscle a little more and bring on some great ideas! Some of the posts may have just an image, and some may have more details.  Depends on my mood for the day.  Instead of posting 30 times, I might be combining days into one post.  This is all to say check back often or follow me (on the right of this screen) so that you know when I post something new!

Turquoise + Lime

This is the color scheme for one of our Christmas trees.  Yes, we have two this year, our main one in the living room and this little cutie in the front window (visible to the neighborhood at night).  It would be hard to part ways with this tree since it's the first tree that Simon and I had together.

Blowin' Up the Spot

I'm back with another installment of "Blowin' Up the Spot" where you try to figure out what the image is that I have posted.

What could this be?

Keep guessing.......

One more try..........

TIME!

It's a beautiful earring from a pair that my mom had from the 70's.  I'm going to start rockin' these earrings once I give them a good once over of polishing.

Adieu!

New Series- Blowin' Up the Spot

Yes, that's right, Blowin' Up the Spot.  This series is all about being aware of the things around you because after all, art surrounds us every second of our lives!  I will be taking pictures of things at an extreme close-up in an artistic way then showing what the image actually is.  Shall we begin?

Any clue?

C'mon......

No?

Okay, here it is-

Back to the Future

The internet is a funny place full of inspiration! I came across something tonight that I thought was uber cute and I may consider trying myself...one day.

Photographer Irina Werning is working on a project called "Back to the Future" in which the subject chooses a picture from their childhood and recreates the scene down to the clothes, accessories and even location of the original picture {if possible}. See what I mean?

If I tackle this, I'll let you all know. Perhaps it could be a piece of wall art in my home...
