Modern + Elegant = A Sweet Invitation

Hello out there. This is the latest invitation that I have completed. It is a booklet style invite with a band around it to keep it closed. The inside has a pocket which holds the rsvp and directions, and the physical invitation is on the opposite side. I hope you enjoy! Remember, if you or anyone you know has a special event coming up, send an email to Occasions@LrnMDesign.com to find out about our Event Branding!

Adieu!

Landscape Love

Design portfolio = a never ending book that you continually update to prove that you are still relevant.
Wow, that's deep {good job, Lauren!} I am still trying to complete mine after 3 years. I'll get there one day!

To make a long story short, I received a beautiful portfolio cover for my birthday 1.5 months ago. I had been meaning to post the pics but never got around to it. I decided that my portrait portfolio wasn't going to do it for me, I needed a landscape...so that's what I got! {ask and you shall receive} I'm not a label whore, but it happens to be a Pina Zangaro! Owwwwww.

My new favorite song (and dancer)

I'm a So You Think You Can Dance fan. I loooooove to watch it not only for the brilliant dancers and their talent, but also because they have the best songs showcased! The contemporary dancers seem to choose the best songs and they are usually new songs to me. One dancer, Kelsea Taylor, had what I would call one of the best if not THE best auditions this season.

The dance was beautiful, crazy, creative, unique, etc. and the song she chose was perfect. The song is called Tore My Heart by Oona.

Here's a link to her audition
Here's a link to the song {of course you have to click on the song on the right of their page}

It's stuck in my head...it's been there since I heard the song last night.

I'm still here!

Hopefully you all are doing well and enjoyed the long holiday weekend!

I have been busy working on a few projects. Here's the list:

  • Started the website for Milestone Events
  • Began teaching myself some new web techniques that I plan to use on the up-update of my website {...don't ask, just know that I'm going to redesign my website again! The saga continues...}. CSS is killer when you're first starting out.
  • Website update for Soy Secrets as well as making more product labels and designing the business cards.
  • Trying to get a hang of this whole "wife" thing. It's not design related, but it still takes up time!
So forgive me for not posting lately, but I will be back again later this week with some exciting posts!

Until then...

My night consisted of...

this:

for these:

{oh yeah, and America's Next Top Model}

I am such a dedicated designer that I hand punched 400 business card edges {100 cards, four edges}. My client needed her business cards by this coming Sunday, and with the rounded edges the turnaround and shipping time may not have worked in her favor. I remembered that I had a rounded edge punch, so I told her that I would order the regular cards and hand punch the edges. The cards arrived today {technically yesterday since it's after 12} and I completed them in about an hour. In the end, my client was happy and she saved money {no need for rush shipping!}.

Working^3

As I stated in this post, I have a lot going on! I completed the family reunion flyer and it turned out well (pics later). Currently I am working on the branding for Milestone Events, an event planning company based here in Atlanta. This is the logo that I designed {minus the yellow "blogger image border"}

Business cards will be submitted to the printer tomorrow, and the website will be under construction shortly. All of this, along with finalizing my website and business cards {by next Tuesday according to my monthly goal sheet} is keeping me on my toes and I'm loving every moment!

So sad, but true

I came across this bag by Modern Toss and just had to post it. I want one and would get it if it weren't in the UK {blasted international shipping!}. Oh well.

Thoughts?
