New Product: Calling Cards

Hello!  I hope your week is coming along well.  Mine is just lovely thus far!

Today I want to do a quick post about the latest products to my shop, www.LrnMDesign.comCalling cards are great to hand out to people giving all of your contact information in one location.  Simply giving your phone number to someone to lock into their phone (and eventually getting lost amongst the others) is no good.  Check out the three customizable designs below:

Featured!

It's Wednesday evening already!  We're almost at the end of the week and on to a wonderful weekend!  What do you all have planned?  I have a few things up my sleeve, but we'll see how things pan out.

Today I was featured on the blog A Home in the Making (Thanks Jenn)!  I designed a new favicon for her blog, and it flows so well with her design (not to mention that it's awesomely orange)!  Head on over to check her out.  She and her hubby are renovating their bungalow, and they do it so well!

Helvetica Neue

This is my absolute favorite font.  It's so pretty.  It's sexy.  It's thin.  I would compare this font to a top shelf margarita on a hot summer day!  In fact, this is one of the fonts that I use in my logo.  See?

Since this is a thin font, it can be seen as feminine, luxurious and/or modern.  This would be fitting for a woman's brand or product, but with the right colors, imagery and words, this can be masculine as well.

Here are a few examples of where this font was used.

So, what's your favorite font and why?

Pretty Cool Home Page

Surfing the net (is it lame to say that now?), I came across a site for a design studio called Sagmeister. What struck me was their home page. It's a live webcam shot of their studio. Crazy idea! So whatever time you visit their site, you can see the inside of their studio live (and the cars driving past outside). Check it out here.

Here's a shot as of 12:08 am est.

Color Scheme Envy

I came across a website for the company Glam Media , and immediately fell in love with the colors on their About section. The bold, sophisticated black paired with pops of saturated colors?!?! This would be great for a dining room or a bedroom in my opinion. Graphic Design wise, it's perfect for this kind of company, and I LOVE the sans serif fonts. Here are a few shots that drew me in-

Christmas, Christmas everywhere!

Maybe you have already trimmed your tree and placed lights on the house/shrubs/windows...and maybe not. Either way, I am in the Christmas spirit fairly early this year, and my tree is probably going up this weekend.

Speaking of Christmas, my new line of Christmas cards are now available on my shop. Here are a select few:

Enjoy your Thanksgiving, and if you are a Black Friday shopper, don't forget the Vaseline!

Bamboo for You

I hope all is well in your world! Mine is dandy; just continuing to strive to accomplish my goals in life.

So, you may recall the snippet of a wedding invitation that I designed a few months ago (namely, this). Well I am happy to say that my friends are now married and all is well. They had a small ceremony at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and it was absolutely beautiful! The weather was perfect, the vibe was perfect, the location was perfect...it was such an honour to be a part of their day!

Now, a few pictures of the invitation suite for your viewing pleasure-

A custom stamp with their picture on it! (I wasn't responsible for this, but it's such a cute element!)

I wish these two the best in life and all that they do :)

I'm baaaack!

Greetings! I promised I would be back and that exciting things were underway. Well here I am with my latest project, wedding invitations and response cards for dear friends of mine. Since I am not complete with everything yet, I am not going to post the full suite until after they have been sent out. Until then, enjoy the snippet...

Party Like a Rock Star!

What's better than a party with a creative theme?

A child's party with a creative theme of course! My latest project was designing backstage passes for Zoe's 4th birthday party. It is a rock star theme, so all of the kids will be dressing up in rocker gear. How cute is that? Here are a few shots of the passes:

Rock on!

Ashton's Sweet 16!

I remember when I turned sixteen. I felt like a new person, and when I looked in the mirror in the morning before school, my face looked different. My face looked more mature. It was strange. Even more strange, my face still looks like I'm sixteen according to a lot of people. That's kinda good and kinda bad. Good because it seems that I am going to age well, but bad because I look crazy buying alcohol {stare at my face, stare at my ID, stare at my face again}.

Anyway, I wanted to share the "sweet" sweet 16 birthday party invitations that I completed this week for Ashton. I wanted them to be elegant and fun but still reflective of a teenager. Her favorite color is pink, so of course pink was incorporated. Enjoy!

Nyla's Favor Tags

I had the pleasure of designing the favor tags for 3 year old Nyla! The theme for her party was "The Princess and the Frog", so I designed the tags with a princess crown and a little jewel embellishment. Hey, she calls herself a princess all of the time, so it's fitting! My sister baked the cookies (chocolate chip and snickerdoodle...yum!), and I dropped some M&M's at the bottom of each bag for a burst of color.
