I hope all is well in your world! Mine is dandy; just continuing to strive to accomplish my goals in life.

So, you may recall the snippet of a wedding invitation that I designed a few months ago (namely, this). Well I am happy to say that my friends are now married and all is well. They had a small ceremony at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and it was absolutely beautiful! The weather was perfect, the vibe was perfect, the location was perfect...it was such an honour to be a part of their day!

Staycation Inspiration

It is the eve of my return to work after a great week off. I actually accomplished a respectable amount of things. One of them was much needed cleaning and organizing. I hate cleaning, but I can say that I actually enjoyed it over the past week. Perhaps because I was off of work, so everything seemed a little sweeter?

Anyhow, I took a visit to my local bookstore and picked up a copy of the latest House Beautiful magazine. This issue had so many great ideas in it! I was totally inspired to do something in the house...especially after reading the "Send us a picture of" feature. Apparently readers send in pictures of whatever the magazine will be showcasing, and hopefully their picture will be one of the lucky ones chosen. This month's spotlight was coat closets. Eek...mine was a complete mess. In fact, I would cringe before opening the door because I knew what it looked like. So this is the feature-

Now I look forward to opening the closet door and smile every time. But I can't help but wonder...of the closets that were chosen, how many of them looked like mine before they took their "magazine worthy" picture?

Greetings! I promised I would be back and that exciting things were underway. Well here I am with my latest project, wedding invitations and response cards for dear friends of mine. Since I am not complete with everything yet, I am not going to post the full suite until after they have been sent out. Until then, enjoy the snippet...

Typography is a friend of mine

Maybe it's just the designer in me, but I really do love typography. I find it entertaining to try to remember the names of fonts that I see on billboards, magazines, tv, wherever. Lame? Oh well, I love it!

So as a result of this love, typography has spilled over to my home decor. Oddly enough, the only room that is fully decorated in my house is the guest bathroom {as of two days ago}. I guess it's kind of a default thing since it's the bathroom on the main level and everyone that visits uses it. Of course, I fell upon a shower curtain that goes with the paint, floor and cabinets in the bathroom so well...and it just so happens to have different fonts all over it. Loved it, so snatched it! Then I decided to house extra towels and washcloths into the basket that we used to hold our wedding programs {reduce, reuse, recycle!}. So this is before...

The bathroom has looked like this since October '09. There was something missing though. I started wondering what kind of images do you hang in a bathroom? Let's see...watercolor paintings of bathroom images like a pedestal sink or a claw foot tub? Nah, won't go with the overall look or feel. Hmmm...a picture of hubs and I? Nah, I doubt you want to look at a picture of us while you're on the toilet. Awkward? Then came a brilliant idea...


Duh! Carry out the typography theme with hubs and my initials! So I designed the prints and put them in a frame that I already had, rearranged the items on the counter, and called it a night!

Party Like a Rock Star!

What's better than a party with a creative theme?

A child's party with a creative theme of course! My latest project was designing backstage passes for Zoe's 4th birthday party. It is a rock star theme, so all of the kids will be dressing up in rocker gear. How cute is that? Here are a few shots of the passes:
