Random jewelry post

When I was in middle school I had all kinds of jewelry. High school...not so much. Early adulthood...not so much. Now? Yeah, it's like middle school all over again. I love jewelry! I really love unique pieces. I'm going to make my own jewelry some day...I just have to learn how to weld...

Anyway, here is one of my favorite necklaces:

I love how it looks, but I especially love it because it was on serious clearance at
White House|Black Market!

Livingetc. AKA Lovingetc.

One of my all time favorite interior design magazines is Livingetc. hands down. I have a love affair with all things UK as it is {music, graphic art, openness, fashion...to a certain extent, kitchen appliances, etc.}, so this magazine just solidifies the affair. Every time I look at an issue, I always end up cleaning my home and trying to reorganize/redecorate/reeverything! My husband loves its effect on me.

Well I was checking out their site and came across a
beautiful interior. It is the home of actress Holly Aird. I'm not going to lie, I have never heard of her before tonight, but nonetheless her home is GORGEOUS! I love the simplicity and splashes of color all throughout.

Inspiration Board I

Polyvore is a wonderful website! Not only can you make fashion inspiration boards, you can pretty much make a board based off of anything you want. Polyvore works by you searching for any item you can think of in any color. You then comb through all of the images that the engine spits back at you from the internet, then you select an image of your liking, drag it to the work space, and continue on this path until you have come up with something like this:

This was my first take at the whole inspiration board thing, so excuse the image quality *eek*

I spy one of my invitation designs...

Getting the ball rolling

Greetings earthlings! I am going to make a vow to start posting on here frequently!

So to start, I began working on concept sketches for my new client. It is a family reunion flyer, and I am very excited about it. *cheer*

Some other design happenings in my life (aka things I will soon be working on or am in the process of working on now):

* Branding for a new fashion designer's line (logo, identity suite, clothing tags)
* R&M Wedding invitations
* Branding for an event planning company (logo, identity suite, website)

Wow, that's a lot! I'm up for the challenge...ALWAYS! I'm so thankful that God continues to give me wonderful ideas and inspiration!

New Beginnings

Hello world!

After long, hard thought, planning and lack of sleep, I would like to introduce to you "LrnM Design", a rebirth of sorts from "The Law Of Design". This name better suits me and my personality, and I am excited to share stuff with you! I plan to post beautiful, creative, strange (etc.) things on here as well as keep you up to date with the happenings in my design world.

For any posts that you see below this one, they were all brought over from the old blog, but the information in them is still golden!

Happy '09 (aka not too much of a cliche new years post)

I would like to wish everyone a happy new year, and a year full of health, wealth and stealth. Ok, not stealth, but it rhymed. I'm not going to give the whole cliche new years spiel about trying new things and working hard to accomplish goals or whatever. I'm just going to say that there are 24 hrs in a day. This is something that everyone has no matter how old or young you are, no matter what your heritage is, and no matter (insert your own thing here). The difference between succesful people and...slackers is that one group knows what to do with their 24 hrs that will get them to where they want to go. I'm just trying to learn how to balance my hrs to do everything that needs to be done across the board. This didn't start today (Jan 1), either. A friend told me that every day is a new year, so your year can start whenever you want it to. Do things on your own time, but just don't waste time. Waste not want not!

Cheers!

Crafty Christmas II

Since I love crafting and cute things so much, I decided to recycle the unused Chinese take-out containers from the wedding and redecorate them as a Christmas treat box. I filled them with holiday cookies and candies...and I'm sure all recipient's dentists will thank me!
