I Heart Moving...

...kind of.

I have been totally out of sync with this move, but I am incredibly happy and so thankful for this blessing! Now I'm just trying to finish unpacking and trying to tie a few loose ends (getting termite protection set up, gas deposit, first mortgage payment, computers set up in the office, etc.). It's coming along well though. I finally have the internet back after a month without it. It's funny how we can't seem to live without the things that we didn't have, say, 20 years ago, these days...but we survived somehow. Maybe we're just getting lazier? Or...maybe we just want to capitalize on all 24 hrs of the day, so we do it by utilizing the things that make life a little easier. Yeah, I'll stick with that one!

I want to share a few pictures of my husband and I after closing, and my family helping us move out of the apartment and into the house. Many great design ideas are to come, and I will be posting them here before, during and after.

The Long Awaited Website

It has been a while, but I have still been at it! Along with working on projects, my husband and I have been in the process of buying our first home! I'm so excited because I will have my own office that I can decorate like I want! I will keep you all updated on the progress and the before and afters when the time comes.

As the title states, there is a long awaited website that is now complete! It is for Milestone Events, an event planning company. You can see some of the work that I have done for them here and here.

Moroccan Romance

I went to Disney World two summers ago. The first park that we went to was the Epcot Center. I had not been there since I was about 10 years old! The place looked so familiar, yet so different. We enjoyed the rides, and I especially enjoyed our lunch. We decided to eat at the Moroccan restaurant, Marrakesh, at the World Showcase. I had a chicken gyro with couscous and tabouli. It was so delicious, and oddly enough it was the best meal that I had on our vacation! This became the beginning of my love for all things Moroccan. The designs inside of the restaurant were such an inspiration, so I decided to design an invitation that had a Moroccan flair to it but was still romantic. Shown are the invitation, rsvp, and envelope with matching liner. I hope you enjoy!

Packaging Love!

I came across the Annick Goutal website today and absolutely looooved the packaging! It gives me the feeling of being in love in a beautiful city on a mild fall evening

I'm a packaging freak by the way. Packaging is very important when you are selling a product, so the better packaging you have the better for your business. Think about it like this: If there were two products that were made of the same ingredients, were the same size, had the same quality and had the same cost, how would you decide which one to buy? For most people it would come down to the packaging. We're just vain like that I suppose? Or we just like to have nice stuff? At any rate, I have never heard of this company, but I am officially in love. Here's why...

Modern + Elegant = A Sweet Invitation

Hello out there. This is the latest invitation that I have completed. It is a booklet style invite with a band around it to keep it closed. The inside has a pocket which holds the rsvp and directions, and the physical invitation is on the opposite side. I hope you enjoy! Landscape Love

Design portfolio = a never ending book that you continually update to prove that you are still relevant.
Wow, that's deep {good job, Lauren!} I am still trying to complete mine after 3 years. I'll get there one day!

To make a long story short, I received a beautiful portfolio cover for my birthday 1.5 months ago. I had been meaning to post the pics but never got around to it. I decided that my portrait portfolio wasn't going to do it for me, I needed a landscape...so that's what I got! {ask and you shall receive} I'm not a label whore, but it happens to be a Pina Zangaro! Owwwwww.

My new favorite song (and dancer)

I'm a So You Think You Can Dance fan. I loooooove to watch it not only for the brilliant dancers and their talent, but also because they have the best songs showcased! The contemporary dancers seem to choose the best songs and they are usually new songs to me. One dancer, Kelsea Taylor, had what I would call one of the best if not THE best auditions this season.



The dance was beautiful, crazy, creative, unique, etc. and the song she chose was perfect. The song is called Tore My Heart by Oona.
